Steven Pait is a persistent and daring young man who believes in being a beacon of hope, even in the most dire situations. His interest in business and entrepreneurship leads him to work tirelessly to feed his hunger for change. Every morning, he wakes up ready to grow and embrace roadblocks with a smile on his face, hoping to improve his community, and eventually the world.
My Story
Being a very competitive person, Steven spent most of his early life playing basketball for his local school. On his very first day competing officially, Steven looked around the large wooden court, and the dozens of players and coaches practicing. Each one of them looked much faster, stronger, or more agile than him. Feeling intimidated by the opposing team, Steven looked toward his coach for guidance.
“Coach, the other team looks so much better than us, how can we win?”
The coach, dressed in a colorful jersey and dark cargo pants, smiled confidently.
“Son,” He began. “In basketball, you’re always gonna face people that seem stronger or faster than you.” He paused. “While strength is important, basketball isn’t a game of being stronger or faster than the other team. It’s a game of will.”
“What do you mean?” A confused Steven replied.
“Whichever team gets tired and gives up is the one that loses, and the one that holds on even if it’s difficult is the one that wins.”
Those words stuck with Steven for the next decade, and now, he works ruthlessly to achieve his goals, no matter what comes his way.
Steven dreams of majoring in Business and being an entrepreneur. Currently, he enjoys competing on the Debate and Badminton teams due to their transferable public speaking and leadership skills. He aims to progress into the IB Diploma Program, with his Higher Level courses being English, Math, and Economics. In the near future, Steven plans on starting his own projects, where he aims to improve his community while honing his entrepreneurship skills.
In the future, Steven hopes to learn and grow his business skills in university and beyond. He wishes he can someday create an idea that he can develop for a majority for his career, aiming to improve his community and eventually, the world.
